Digital Transformation in the time of Corona
Digital Transformation in Covid-19 (Coronavirus)
COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on the economy, especially businesses. The crisis has fueled a major digital transformation within organizations, companies work trends changed, most companies adopt work from home culture, new technologies are being implemented that will help to make work-related communication as seamless as possible. This has thus resulted in companies innovating and evolving by getting used to newer platforms and technologies.
One of the things that have been bought to the fore is the ability of companies and businesses to adapt. While many have been quick to take the plunge, a lot of others have found it a rather tricky change to adapt. On the other hand, many startups and established companies have been quick to assess the situation and come up with solutions that cater to the Work from the Home phenomenon. Right from meeting apps and programs to collaboration tools and even entertainment options, everything has transformed. While many companies may seem to be struggling to keep up with the changing dynamics, the ones with easy adaptability seem to be thriving under the COVID-19 (coronavirus)threat.
What amazed me, however, was the degree of acceptance to work from home. Now, at a later stage of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen many companies making a complete switch to work from home solutions. For example, Shopify announced that they are digital by default and will keep their offices closed until 2021. Similarly, Upwork said they are ‘embracing the “remote-first” model.’ This shift in trend presents several challenges for companies; however, as we can see, the benefits far outweigh the damages.
It is time companies become cognizant of the current scenario and the benefits their employees enjoy in the work from home situation, which automatically translates into increased productivity. Is your company ready to take the plunge?
